I'm telling you, I tried the registry fixes recommended on htmlfile and the how to's posted by 1394 & Mel9484 and they don't work (for my environment). So, w ith all the how to's on this and lots of support advice on how to fix hyperlinks in Outlook after uninstalling Google Chrome I would like to shed some light on this just to clear the air and see if anyone has tried this procedure. Over the last year, I have encountered this issue about a dozen times and I finally did my own work on fixing this problem and I came up with a fix that works (mostly on Windows 7 but will work on XP). I spent sometime researching how to fix this and I couldn't get it fixed, so I left Chrome installed and just restricted it to admin only. Later in the week, the user contacted me and reported his hyperlinks in Outlook no longer worked. I uninstalled Chrome and the toolbar (under admin) and completed the ticket. My first time this happened was on a Windows 7 Pro laptop. So, I have to uninstall both applications from the machine. In my case, Chrome is not allowed to be installed on user systems. A Big Deal? In many corporations, Chrome isn't a big deal to have installed. Sometimes they contact the help desk or desktop support and report they have Chrome installed, somehow. Of course the user wonders, "How did that get installed?". After the update is completed, they realize that there is a Chrome icon on their desktop. They don't see that the option box is checked and they proceed to update Reader. You get one of your users that updated Adobe Reader and didn't pay attention to the first window that prompts you to run the update with the option to install Google toolbar for IE and Chrome.
